Sheffield Wednesday are on a five-game winless streak, and they look to snap it in the English Championship as they return to Hillsborough on Saturday. Despite being 4-0 winners against Plymouth Argyle for new manager Danny Rohl, the Owls have managed to get only one point of the last five matches, which were against Sunderland, Leeds United and Millwall, the last drawn against Queens Park Rangers after a turnaround in the final minutes. Latest defeat was away at Luton Town where they conceded 2-1 after they had taken an early lead courtesy of Barry Bannan.
Sheffield Wednesday currently are bottom three of the table and look to kick off their move up the rungs starting this weekend. It comes at a tough time as the visitors head to South Yorkshire for what has been a highly promising start to their promotion campaign this term.
Sheffield Wednesday Predicted Lineup
Beadle; Palmer, Ihiekwe, Famewo; Valery, Charles, Bannan, Johnson; Musaba, Ugbo, Windass.
West Brom form
The whole of West Bromwich Albion is already atop the league table, accumulating 16 points through six games so far in the 2024-25 season without a defeat save for the draw against Leeds United. They have since bounced back and maintained their winning spree as they trounce Portsmouth and Plymouth Argyle. With 10 goals scored and just two conceded thus far, that will be more than great success if West Brom can keep their top position in the league table with another fifth win in a row on Saturday at Hawthorns.
West Brom Predicted Lineup
Palmer; Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley, Heggem; Racic, Mowatt; Fellows, Swift, Grant; Maja.
Sheffield Wednesday vs West Brom Expert Tips
Sheffield Wednesday will have to be without defender Di'Shon Bernard in the final match of the season. The youngster earned himself a suspension after receiving his red card in the last match against Luton Town. Dom Iorfa and Nathaniel Chalobah are unavailable due to injuries with an injury doubt over Djeidi Gassama.
In the event of an unavailable Bernard, Michael Ihiekwe has been expected to start on the left side of a back three. Behind him would be Liam Palmer and Akin Famewo. Midfielder Svante Ingelsson could take a seat on the bench in favor of Shea Charles - and by extension of the captain, Barry Bannan. Danny Rohl might make some changes across the attacking unit, so there is an opportunity for Jamal Lowe, Ike Ugbo, and Anthony Musaba to fight for a spot in the eleven.
West Bromwich Albion might want to stick with the same initial lineup that helped the team emerge victorious when they faced Plymouth Argyle as part of the last match. Josh Maja, who is six games into the season and sits top in scoring; he will probably lead the line once more. Karlan Grant, John Swift, and Tom Fellows should start while Uros Racic and Alex Mowatt, midfielders who started together last time out and are likely to do so again, will return.
West Bromwich Albion are in good form and have given confidence, and thus favorites to defeat a struggling Sheffield Wednesday team.
