Queens Park Rangers started the season well and were in contention for a playoff spot at the top of the Championship table. However, they have struggled recently, only winning one match and earning nine points from their last 15 league games. Their lone victory came against Preston North End after the World Cup break in December. Since then, they have drawn five matches and lost three, with no three-point wins in eight games. After a 3-0 loss to Hull City and a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, they were unable to come back from a 2-0 deficit against Millwall at home. As a result of their slump, they have dropped to 16th place and are under pressure, but they are only one point behind 12th-placed Preston North End and six points behind seventh-placed opponents. They have the opportunity to turn their season around if they can string together a winning streak starting on Tuesday.

Sunderland’s Form
On Tuesday, Sunderland hopes to keep their winning streak going and move into the top six. They have earned four victories and 15 points in their last eight Championship matches, including a 2-0 defeat of promotion-contending Middlesbrough. Despite back-to-back 1-1 draws with Fulham and Millwall, Sunderland lost 3-2 to Fulham in the fourth-round replay of the FA Cup. However, they rebounded with a win against Reading on Saturday, with Patrick Roberts scoring the only goal in the 84th minute. This victory allowed them to surpass West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers and move up to seventh place in the playoff race. They are now just one point behind Watford and Millwall in the top six and have a game in hand on Watford. Mowbray's team will now travel to Loftus Road, seeking their 13th win in the Championship to further enhance their chances of securing a playoff spot.
