Preston North End vs Coventry City Prediction: Both are on winless streak

Preston North End will welcome Coventry City at Deepdale Stadium in Game Week 15 of the English Championship. Coventry lost three games in a row and will be looking to avoid fourth on Saturday. Who will come out on top after 90 minutes?

Ryan Lowe had a successful start to the season, winning six games in a row. However, he may have expected a decline in form at some point. Unfortunately for him, his team, Preston, went on to have a run of seven matches without a win, only managing three draws. There were some positives to take from their matches against Millwall and Southampton, where they earned draws after a series of defeats. However, their recent 1-0 loss to Hull City has left them in ninth place, with only a three-point lead over Blackburn Rovers in 12th.

Due to a hamstring injury sustained during the match against Hull, Greg Cunningham will be unable to play for Preston. However, Will Keane, who was substituted at the same time, is expected to recover from his groin issue and be available for selection. In Cunningham's absence, Kian Best is likely to take his place, while Ben Woodburn and Robbie Brady are being considered for attacking opportunities.

Preston is currently struggling to find their next victory, and the same can be said for their upcoming opponents, Coventry. Coventry had a near miss with promotion to the Premier League and their manager, Mark Robins, had higher expectations for his new team. They had a decent start to the season with only two losses in 11 matches, but since the October international break, they have suffered three consecutive defeats without scoring a goal.

Despite their recent form, Coventry is still within eight points of the playoffs, giving them some hope for the future. However, Robins knows that they cannot continue their current form if they want to be promotion contenders in the second half of the season.

Coventry City manager Mark Robins is anticipated to make changes to his starting lineup, potentially including the return of Matt Godden and Ellis Simms in the attack. Joel Latibeaudiere is also a potential option in the defense or wing-back positions. Unfortunately, Liam Kelly and Kasey Palmer are still sidelined due to injuries.    

Coventry City's possible starting lineup is Wilson; Thomas, McFadzean, Kitching; Van Ewijk, Eccles, Sheaf, Dasilva; Allen; Simms, Godden.

It is expected to be a tense game for both teams, with the awareness that they cannot continue their recent string of poor results. Coventry City is in greater need of securing maximum points, but we predict that the match will likely end in a low-scoring draw or a home side win.
