Pompey had a difficult start to their first Championship season since 2011-12, as they won only one of the first 14 matches and had six draws with seven losses. They were then unbeaten in four matches, which included wins against Preston North End and Bristol City at home and a draw against Swansea City away. Their momentum was stopped in their tracks by a 0-0 draw with Norwich City at Fratton Park, and they suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss to Derby County. This defeat had them fall into the relegation zone, just one point away from safety. Pompey will be looking forward to returning to Fratton Park, where they have been unbeaten in three games and lost only once in six matches.
Coventry City form
This would become a reasonably pleasing opening to his fifth football-management job. Three out of four games for Lampard's side didn't drop points after Mark Robins was dismissed by the South Coast outfit back in November. His side started it off with a 2-2 draw against Cardiff City and, last night with a 1-0 win over Millwall at the L&G stadium. Despite losing against West Bromwich Albion, Coventry returned with all guns blazing by beating Hull City 2-1, courtesy of goals scored by Ephron Mason-Clark and Jack Rudoni. The win helped in breaking the three-match drought at home, which shifted them seven points above relegation. The team will now look forward to gaining consecutive wins after having done miserably during their past visits to Fratton Park, having only grabbed a 1-0 win against Portsmouth in the last match that they had.
Portsmouth vs Coventry City Prediction Tips
Portsmouth may be disappointed by their recent visit to Pride Park, but they may take solace in that they are unbeaten for three matches at Fratton Park. We believe they will continue this run by securing a draw against Coventry in their Saturday match.
