Plymouth Argyle vs West Bromwich Albion Prediction: Both teams suffered defeats in last game

Plymouth Argyle will welcome West Bromwich Albion at Home Park in Game Week 29 of the English Championship. Both teams suffered defeats in their respective last championship games. Who will come out on top after 90 minutes?

Following an impressive six-game unbeaten streak in the Championship and the FA Cup since New Year's Day, Plymouth's 2024 season took a downturn in recent matches. The Green Army has now gone four games without a win after a visit from Daniel Farke's Leeds, who showcased their Premier League quality. A slow start from the Pilgrims allowed Willy Gnonto to score for Leeds, with Georginio Rutter adding another goal in the second half despite Plymouth's improved performance. Plymouth has had to make changes to their squad due to loan players departing and a former coach moving to Stoke City, with new additions like Alfie Devine and Ashley Phillips from Tottenham Hotspur. The team's home form has been crucial in keeping them away from the relegation battle, as they suffered their first home defeat in the Championship since October against Leeds. 

Plymouth are planning to bring Ryan Hardie back into the starting lineup for their upcoming match after he was rested on the bench due to fatigue. It is likely that New Zealand international Ben Waine will make room for him in the team. In addition, Brendan Galloway may be included in a new back three formation alongside Phillips and Gibson. Darko Gyabi is expected to return to the lineup after missing the last match against Leeds, possibly replacing either Jordan Houghton or Adam Randell.Mustapha Bundu made a return to Plymouth's squad after recovering from a calf strain and will be looking to get more playing time against West Brom.

Semi Ajayi could partner with Cedric Kipre in West Brom's defense following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations final defeat.
