With Wayne Rooney at the helm, Plymouth Argyle's interest this season may have gained some effect en masse on their performance last Sunday. The result was a mauling 4-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough, leaving much for Wayne Rooney to think about.
The added importance of a home EFL Cup tie against Cheltenham Town quickly became clear to everybody to alleviate some of the pressure should they lose—the kind of criticism Rooney would then face. Though an hour passed without Plymouth managing to break the deadlock, they eventually achieved a 3-0 win with three of their attacking players scoring confidence-boosting goals.
Now, Plymouth turn their attention back to the Championship, hoping to make it five competitive matches unbeaten at Home Park.
Plymouth Argyle Predicted Lineup

Hull City form
From Hull City's perspective, Tim Walter will be fairly satisfied with how his side has opened the campaign, barring their EFL Cup loss to Sheffield Wednesday.
Last weekend, the Tigers drew 1-1 with Bristol City, scoring a last-minute penalty courtesy of Oscar Estupiñán to salvage a point. The following game chalked up a 2-1 loss for Hull against Sheffield Wednesday, in which all three goals were scored in the first 10 minutes and the winning goal was a result of howler Anthony Racioppi.
Walter will hope this mistake is an isolated incident, but Hull's winless streak now stretches to 10 games when notable friendlies are included.
Hull City Predicted Lineup
Pandur; Coyle, Jones, McLoughlin, Jacob; Simons; Omur, Slater, Mehlem, Giles; Estupinan
Plymouth Argyle vs Hull City Expert Tips
With a convincing victory on Wednesday, Rooney will believe he can produce a repeat in the league. But Hull may just have too much for their hosts, even as they remain in the process of beddings in their new manager. Both teams are expected to score in this game.
