Blackburn Rovers vs Bristol City Prediction: Blackburn aiming to build on great start

Blackburn Rovers take on Bristol City at Ewood Park on the fifth match day of the English Championship. Blackburn will be looking to build on an excellent sequence since the start of the season. Who wins this encounter after the regular 90 minutes? 

Rovers fans will be hoping that John Eustace's impact at Birmingham City, before being sensationally axed, will be emulated here as Blackburn have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight matches scoring nine goals in total. Among the players heading out was top scorer Sammie Szmodics, who has joined Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. One genuine highlight was holding the visit of arch-rivals Burnley with a man down. The team has shown huge resiliency and determination by scoring most of their games to date with last-minute goals. Let's see if this holds true for the upcoming season.

Bristol City will then seek to collect a win at Ewood Park to push their table chances upwards while another loss would send them off on a chase for promotion.

Since Makhtar Gueye is suspended, Yuki Ohashi probably starts in the middle of the Blackburn attack. Todd Cantwell and Amario Cozier-Duberry probably won't start since they are new additions to the team. If everything goes according to plan and without any new fitness issues, it could be the same starting eleven from the last game. Manning probably changes his Bristol City lineup for this match.

Luke McNally can feature on the backline, and Fally Mayulu could feature and make his first Championship start on the attack side.
