DR Congo vs Ethiopia Prediction: The hosts will get the job done before the break

On Tuesday, the Leopards will square off against Ethiopia at the Stade de Martyrs de la Pentecôte Stadium. DR Congo were nowhere near their best against Guinea on the road, and they’ll be poised to adjust against a feeble opponent.

Sebastien Desabre's men's five consecutive victories ended after their defeat against Guinea on the road. In what seemed to be a needless match, DR Congo were below par. They failed to get a shot at goal but defended well against Guinea who eventually got a deserved goal in the 92nd minute. 

DR Congo have secured a spot in AFCON 2025, having picked up twelve points from a combined fifteen. 

The Leopards have not only been good in front of goal but have been defensively solid as well, marching here with five clean sheets in six games.

The guest side have had a terrible run in this qualifying round, having gone five games without a breakthrough. It has always been a mission impossible for Ethiopia after being grouped with top teams in the continent. They march here with yet another defeat as they conceded twice on their ground against Tanzania. Ethiopia have conceded eleven goals while finding the back of the net once in this competition. Their journey has ended since game four, and they’ll play for pride here. 

Ethiopia are missing three key players for this encounter, and it’ll be interesting to see how they adjust. 

DR Congo have won their last three games against Ethiopia, scoring five without conceding. The guests have been terrible, and they don’t even fight against their opponents. They’ve managed just a goal over their last five matches, and I think they stand no chance here. On the other hand, with the way DR Congo played against Guinea and their output, we expect a more aggressive approach in this encounter. I expect DR Congo to get the job done before the break for 1.77.
