Tigre vs Libertad Asuncion Prediction: Can Tigre turn things around at home?

In the second leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana, Tigre welcomes Libertad. The match is scheduled for Friday at 03:00 at the Jose Dellagiovanna Stadium. The first game ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Libertad. The goals for the Paraguayan team were scored by Lorenzo Melgarejo and Oscar Cardozo, while the only goal for the Argentine team was scored by Blas Esteban Armoa Nunez. The winner of this match will play against Fortaleza in the next stage

In the last round of the Argentine Professional League, Tigre lost at home to Barracas Central with a score of 0:1. The only goal of the game was scored by the visiting team in the 90th minute, which led to victory. The home team was statistically the better opponent in this match, but the result was not on their side. They currently occupy the 21st position in the table with 28 points won, ten more than the last-placed Arsenal Sarandi.  In the last six games in all competitions, they registered only one victory and as many as five defeats. After a setback in the first leg and another defeat at the weekend, Tigre could make changes on Friday night, with wingers Blas Armoa and Agustin Obando expected to be restored to the starting line-up. The leader of the attack will be top scorer Mateo Retegui, while the captain of the home team will be Lucas Menossi from midfield. We expect Tigre stopper Victor Cabrera to miss the second match due to injury, and we will see what decision the home team manager will make.

In the previous round of the strongest Paraguayan competition, Libertad defeated Guarani away with a score of 0:3. In that match, Oscar Cardozo was a double scorer, while David Gonzalez scored one goal, and Mathias Espinoza and Diego Gomez recorded one assist each. After only two rounds played in the Primera Division, the Libertad team has only two recorded victories.  In the last five competitive games, they registered three wins and two draws. Libertad midfielder Hugo Martinez - who recently signed a three-year contract extension - will definitely be sidelined as he recovers from a cruciate ligament injury. Despite his age, Roque Santa Cruz remains a key player in the away team's attack, while Hector Villalba and Lorenzo Melgarejo will support the tall striker in a 4-3-3 formation.

Due to a much better form, we believe that Libertad is closer to victory than the host. However, due to the advantage of the home field, we cannot predict a "clean two" with complete certainty. Also, we believe that a minimum of three goals will be scored in this match, because both teams same as in the first match will attack from the start. Therefore, we predict a draw or a win for the visitors, with the total number of goals in the match being over 2.5.
