Junior FC vs Tolima Prediction: Mid Table Clash

Two closely placed sides in Junior Barranquilla and Deportes Tolima will face off at Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Melendez in the 14th round of the Categoria Primera A. Junior FC lost their last match away to Chico FC (2-1) and Tolima won theirs against Envigado (2-0).

Despite going into the match against 16th placed Chico FC unbeaten in three games, Junior FC still suffered a humiliating 2-1 defeat to them. The first goal came in the 26th minute when Felix Chaverra headed home Sebastian Tamara's corner. Felix was just substituted for an injured player. Gabriel Fuentes was able to find a leveler for Junior FC before the break in the 44th minute. He placed a perfect shot into the bottom right corner after an assist from Edwin Herrera. In the second half, Junior FC had the bulk of possession but couldn't do enough to threaten Chico FC. Chico FC missed two consecutive chances in the 55th and 59th minute. They eventually took the lead through a solo effort from Delvin Alfonzo. He hit a ferocious shot from outside the box into the top right corner after Junior FC failed to clear the lines after a corner. Junior FC's loss to Chico FC is their only loss in the last five games. They have two wins and two losses as well. They have scored 14 goals and conceded six in that period as well. 

Tolima easily trampled upon Envigado in their last game and won 2-0. William Para from Envigado received the first card of the match in the 10th minute after a bad foul. 20 minutes later, Alex Castro scored the first goal of the tie with a left footed shot assisted by Yeison Guzman. Envigado tried hard to find an equalizer in the first half but found it hard to do so with their meager possession of 29%. Tolima doubled their lead Immediately after the break. It was Deigo Herazo that scored this time around when Juan David Rios threaded a through ball for him to finish off following a fast break. Envigado played better in the second half and had an equal amount of possession with Tolima. They even created a big chance but they couldn't convert it to reduce the deficit. Tolima have two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five matches, scoring seven and conceding eight goals in the five matches.

Junior FC are currently in 9th place with 17 points and Tolima are 13th with 16 points.
