Guinea Bissau vs Nigeria Prediction: The Super Eagles will outperform their opponent here

In the final group game of Group A, Guinea Bissau will play for pride when they face off against Nigeria, who must at least secure a point to stand a chance of advancing to the next round.

The Djurtus are mathematically out of the tournament following their back-to-back defeats. Guinea Bissau began their journey with a (2-0) defeat against the host nation and suffered their second loss of the tournament against Equatorial Guinea. They were totally outplayed by their neighbor, who found the back of the net four times, while they managed to respond twice. 

Baciro Cande men have failed to register a win in the history of this tournament and finished at the bottom of their group in the 2022 edition. Guinea Bissau are the last team on the log, and their journey will be cut with a game at hand.

The Super Eagles put up one of their best performances in a long time as they defeated the host nation. Nigeria knew there was no easy route for them to make it out of the group phase for the 15th consecutive season other than to show class against Ivory Coast. The cagey game produced just a goal which was converted by the team’s captain, Ekong. The result came after their share of the spoils against Equatorial Guinea. 

Despite their recent woes, Jose Peseiro's men rose to the occasion against a very strong side as they moved to the second spot on the log, and we expect an improved performance here.

Their last three meetings have seen Nigeria with two victories while Guinea Bissau have managed a win. The Super Eagles returned to their usual five at the back, which worked well for them as they defeated Ivory Coast (0-1) on their ground. At the same time, Guinea Bissau were outplayed by Equatorial Guinea in their second game. Nigeria are not expected to play a back five here as they are far more superior to Guinea-Bissau. Even though it’s a dead rubber game for the Djurtus, we don’t expect them to bow out without a fight.

We think Nigeria will get a halftime victory here for 1.67.
