Thursday saw Sao Paulo defeat Atletico Goianiense 2-0 to rescue a 3-3 aggregate draw, then triumph on penalties to go to the Copa Sudamericana final. They have now returned to the Brazilian Serie A, where they have lost their last three games and collected just one of a possible nine points. On par with Fortaleza in terms of points, occupying the final Copa Sudamericana qualifying slot.
