RB Bragantino vs Vasco da Gama Prediction: Both teams have made a good league start

RB Bragantino surprisingly drew at the Maracanã against Fluminense in Round 1. The Red Bull 2024 version has not convinced analysts, and the 3-0 defeat against Racing of Argentina a few days before the Brasileirão kick-off did not suggest a good result in Rio de Janeiro. Vasco also started well the Brasileirão by beating Grêmio 2-1 at home. A solid first half saw the Cariocas take a two-goal lead into the break, which was enough to win.

The Massa Bruta had an excellent campaign last year, but failing to reach the group stage of the Copa Libertadores at the start of this season weighed on the players' confidence. In the Paulistão, Bragantino reached the semi-finals but lost to Santos. A two-all draw against Fluminense may have been the result the team needed to return to last season's level. Beating Vasco da Gama and taking four points from two rounds would be positive for the Bragança Paulista side.

The Cruzmaltino wants to avoid last year's suffering when relegation was just a few minutes away. Starting the Brasileirão by winning the first match against a side that finished second is undoubtedly morale-boosting. Repeating last year's draw at The Nabi Abi Chedid would excite Vasco fans even more, but it won't be easy. Payet missed the game against Grêmio due to injury and is unlikely to play also against Bragantino.

After hosting Vasco da Gama, Bragantino will play another match at home. If Red Bull can take advantage of these two games in a row at the Nabizão and get six points, it would be a great start to the Brasileirão. Pedro Caixinha's team will do everything to get the three points against Vasco. We have to wait and see how the Cariocas will play in their first game away from home, but, likely, Ramón Díaz will go for a draw. My bet is on a Double Chance for Red Bull with a maximum of three goals in the match.
