Flamengo vs Cuiabá Prediction: It will be a surprise if Flamengo doesn't win

Flamengo proved again that it's currently the best team in the Brasileirão. In Belo Horizonte, the Série A leader showed all its strength and beat Atlético Mineiro 4-2. Tite has plenty of options in his squad and decided to give Pedro, the Cariocas' top scorer, a rest. Even so, the Scarlet-Black had no trouble scoring four goals.

Bruno Henrique was the star of the game, scoring twice. The Belo Horizonte-born player opened the scoring after just 14 minutes, damaging the confidence of the Miners, who had not won at home for four games. Atlético was a fragile team, and Flamengo made it 3-0 in the 51st minute, leaving the Rooster fans in disbelief. Despite Atlético's reaction, the Cariocas managed comfortably their lead. Flamengo took advantage of Palmeiras' draw and now holds a three-point lead over the champion, Botago and Bahia. Flamengo will now face Cuiabá with a high level of confidence.

The Golden Dorado ended its unbeaten run by losing 2-1 at home to Botafogo. After five games without a loss, Cuiabá missed some good chances and couldn't resist the visitors' efficiency. Kauê scored in the 5th minute for Botafogo, but the Mato-Grossenses equalized just before half-time with a penalty scored by Pitta. Cuiabá could have scored through Clayson in the second half, who missed a clear opportunity. In the 75th minute, Ponte scored the winning goal for the Cariocas, punishing Cuiabá's lack of effectiveness. The Golden Dorado is in 15th place, just one point above the relegation zone. Petit's team will now head to the Maracanã to attempt a miracle.

It's a game with a clear favorite and an obvious underdog. Flamengo is deservedly in first place, so perhaps only the most optimistic Cuiabá fans hope for a good result at the Maracanã. The Mato-Grossenses have improved in defense recently but will now face the best attack in the Brasileirão. The odds of a win for the Cariocas aren't very high, so I'm backing them to win with a maximum of four goals scored. If Flamengo doesn't win, it'll be a big surprise.
