Cuiabá vs Fortaleza Prediction: Both teams lost in the previous round

Cuiabá and Fortaleza fought hard but couldn't avoid defeat against Cruzeiro and Bahia, respectively. Despite playing on the road, both teams left the pitch knowing they had missed an opportunity to get a point. Cuiabá remains in the relegation zone, so this upcoming game is vital. Fortaleza is currently in mid-table but wants to move up a few places, as it has ambitions to return to the Copa Libertadores next year.

The Golden Dorado was close to a draw against Cruzeiro in Belo Horizonte and a second straight game without losing. After winning for the first time in the league in the previous match in Criciúma, Cuiabá showed more confidence and made the Miners sweat to win. Matheus Pereira scored the home side's first goal seconds before half-time. Isidro Pitta equalized for the Mato Grosso side through a penalty in the 64th minute, but Matheus Pereira scored his second goal to set up the final result. Petit's team still tried to equalize but was not successful. Cuiabá's performance has improved somewhat in recent games, but it will now face a strong Fortaleza side. 

The Lion played a good game against Bahia at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador. Facing one of the Brasileirão leaders, Fortaleza didn't just defend and could have scored on several occasions. The central midfielder burst into the Fortaleza box to score the winning goal with a header in the 80th minute. The Lion will try to win in Cuiabá to recover the points lost against the Baianos.

Fortaleza made a good impression at Bahia, one of the best teams in the Série A until now. With a little more composure in front of goal, the Ceará side could have won the game. Cuiabá has improved in recent matches but has a few weaknesses that the Lion of Pici can exploit. I'm betting on a Double Chance in favor of Fortaleza, with a maximum of three goals scored in the match.
