Atlético Goianiense vs Cuiabá Prediction: Bottom of the table clash

The two worst teams in the Brasileirão will meet in Goiânia in a vital game. Atlético Goianiense is in last place with 21 points, while Cuiabá is one place higher with 26 points. It's final for both teams, and a draw won't matter. Atlético and Cuiabá played in Round 11 at the Arena Pantanal, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

It will be very tough for the Dragon to avoid relegation unless it wins all or almost all of its games until the end, which is highly unlikely. However, anything is possible in football, and Atlético has a chance of salvation, mathematically. The Goianos must beat Cuiabá, the team immediately above them in the table. If they fail to win, they'll probably not have the strength to reverse such a dramatic situation. The Matogrossenses will travel to Goiânia determined to beat the last-placed team, knowing that a draw is not a good result. Bernardo Franco's men must recover the four points that separate them from the lifeline.

Both teams occupy the last two places in the standings and are in deep trouble. Atlético Goianiense has 21 points and little chance of salvation as it is nine points behind Fluminense, the first team out of the Z4. Cuiabá has 26 points, so the players still believe in reversing the situation. The victory over São Paulo in the last round proved that the Matogrossenses still have the strength to fight. That win makes me lean towards a good result for Cuiabá against Atlético. I'm betting on a Double Chance for the visitors, who have regained their confidence.
