Belarus’ team had a surprising run in qualifying for Euro 2024. They started with three straight losses, but then, over seven rounds, they only lost once. As a result, they drew with the Romanians (0:0) and the Swiss (3:3) and beat Kosovar twice (2:1 and 1:0). Unfortunately, even with these promising outcomes, they didn’t make it to the final part of the tournament, coming fourth in the standings. In 2024, this national team hasn’t had as good of a run. In March, they drew with Malta 0:0, failed to Montenegro 0:2, and, in June, to Russia 0:4.
Israel
The Israeli team has never played at the European Championships but had a chance to reach the finals for the first time at Euro 2024 through the traditional selection process and the Nations League. Neither option worked out for them. In qualifying, they had a shot at winning until the penultimate round, but in the critical game, they lost to Romania 1:2. That meant they took only third place in the standings. In the Nations League, they didn’t make it past the knockout semifinal, losing to Iceland—1:4. Since then, they’ve only played one friendly, failing to Hungary without a chance—0:3.

The Israeli team did pretty well in the Euro 2024 qualification. The Blues and Whites are clearly in good shape, so they’re the favorites against Belarus. After Carlos Alos was appointed head coach, the latter had a burst of activity, but they can’t maintain the same results in 2024. They’ve failed to score in their last three games, losing twice (0:6) and drawing once more.
The Israelis have been playing very entertaining, productive, and attacking. Almost all the recent matches had a vast tournament significance, but they never began playing pragmatically. They scored and conceded 13 goals (3.25 on average) in the previous four games. Also, the Israelis have always had fun in the meetings with Belarus. In the last seven matches, the opponents shot 21 goals (3.00 on average).
