Bamenda vs Gazelle Prediction: Could history repeat itself?

Bamenda and Gazelle will square it off at Stade Municipal De Mbouda in round three of the Cameroon Elite One. Both teams could not win their last weekend fixture and will have high hopes here. How will this encounter unfold?

Bamenda will hope to return to winning ways after a defeat to Dynamo Douala last weekend. Bamenda had a solid second-half performance in that game, but their inability to hold before the break handed them their first defeat of the season. However, their season opener against Panthree ended in a win, with Patrice Belemb's 61st-minute strike being the decider.

Heading into this game, Bamenda have a record of five games unbeaten on home turf. Yet, this side failed to win any of their last seven home matches, losing two in that run. In fact, Bamenda scored three goals in those games. 

Gazelle played Colombe the previous weekend and settled for a goalless draw. However, the visiting team started their season with a defeat against Fortuna Mfou, ending 1-2. In that game, this side broke the deadlock in the 8th minute from Alexis Yougouda Kada's strike but conceded twice in the last minutes. In the meantime, Gazelle has not won any of their last three matches in the league, which is a concern for them.

This is tough to predict, but I will lean on the home side. While Bamenda have been a bit better this season, I feel their chances at home are high. However, Gazelle, having failed to find their rhythm, is expected to find it difficult to net, unlike previous meetings. Also, while the two teams should rely on defensive play, I believe that a bet on a few goals is also a solid option.
