Arsenal vs Manchester United Prediction: Two English giants will go against each other

Arsenal will go head-to-head with Manchester United at the SoFi Stadium in the Club Friendlies. United will jump into an early start of the season with a face-off against Manchester City for Community Shield. You think who is going to stand supreme after 90 minutes?

On Wednesday evening, Arsenal kicked off their summer tour in the United States as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bournemouth before eventually winning the match 5-4 on penalties. In the 18th minute, Fabio Viera struck to put Mikel Arteta's side ahead, but they were pegged back with just 17 minutes remaining when Antoine Semenyo leveled for Bournemouth.

The Gunners will face off against Manchester United and Liverpool in the final two games across the Atlantic before returning home to get ready for friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyon.

Arteta's men begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign on August 17 against Wolves. Having finished second to Manchester City in each of the last two seasons, it will be intriguing to see how the Gunners do third time around.

So far, the summer has been pretty quiet for Arsenal, with David Raya's permanent signing from Brentford being the biggest deal. There is certainly more to come in the next weeks.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have played two games this summer – their first coming on 15 July with a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg and followed on Saturday afternoon by a 2-0 win over Rangers.

The Red Devils will also take part in three matches in the United States against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool before returning to England for the Community Shield against Manchester City on 10 August.

Erik ten Hag's team will start their 2024-25 Premier League campaign six days later, against Fulham, under immense pressure following an eighth-placed finish in 2023-24.

So far this summer, Manchester United have completed the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and Leny Yoro from Lille but several other deals are in the works to further strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

They have a central midfielder and another centre-back in their sights but more must go out the door to bring them in. Manchester United, much like Arsenal, will be very busy in the window in the coming weeks.

Predicting any outcome of any friendly in any pre-season game involving two big teams is always a little tough, much more in unfamiliar settings. But with both managers having enough arsenal at their disposal, we feel it could be an intense game of football, making a draw a likely outcome on Saturday night.
