Max Verstappen performed brilliantly in the Belgian Grand Prix. He finished almost 18 seconds ahead of second-placed Sergio Perez. Thus, the Dutch driver is rapidly going to the second championship, forward of second in the personal ranking Perez on 93 points and third Leclaire on 98. In the upcoming weekend, the charge of the Red Bull will perform in front of his audience, and we will not be surprised if he makes the fourth victory.
The winner of the World Constructors' Championship is already known. Red Bull has a solid 100+ point advantage over inferior Ferrari and Mercedes. So, the Bulls just need to perform at a level in the upcoming eight races, and, we can say, the victory is in the pocket.
Max Verstappen once again wins qualifying, earning pole position for the upcoming weekend. He led his fastest lap in 1:10.342s. Leclerc was second, 0.021s behind the first Dutchman. Third place at the start was won by Carlos Sainz (1:10.434s).
Unbelievable! Yesterday we had a difficult day, but the whole team worked hard and was able to change the situation - we recovered well. Today the car was fast, and she was a pleasure to drive - the qualifying lap turned out mad. I know that the race to be a tight fight, but if we do not make a mistake with the tire, tomorrow we will have a good chance. The atmosphere on the track is terrific. I hope the fans are having a great time - I can feel their support and hear them everywhere on the track.
Max Verstappen
I attacked at the limit on the last lap in the final qualifying and exceeded the line - it's a pity it happened that way. I went too fast into the last corner, but fortunately, the car was undamaged. I hit the gas pedal early, the grass, and was turned around. I had a good lap before that; I was going to improve, but I lost everything. I got the fifth position at the start, but having a good race pace is more important. The tuning changes we made after yesterday worked, and I had a reasonable rate in the third practice session of the long series. I hope to win back a few positions tomorrow and fight with the leaders. I think it will be a very close fight between Mercedes and Ferrari, but I am looking forward to it.
