The race in Hungary was a success for the Red Bull player. Max Verstappen arrived first with a significant gap to second Hamilton. The Dutchman crossed the finish line seven seconds faster than the Briton. Perez couldn't really shine, ending up fifth. However, in spite of this, in the World Constructors' Championship the Bulls are safe and sound. At the moment they are first with 431 points, which is 97 more than the second team Ferrari.
The intrigue is still there in the individual standings. Yes, Verstappen leads by a wide margin, but Leclerc and Perez have a theoretical chance of winning. Before the Belgian Grand Prix the Dutchman had 258 points, the Monegasque had 178 and the Mexican - 173.
Max Verstappen secured pole position for the upcoming race. He set the best time in qualify - 1:43.665. Second place went to Carlos Sainz (1:44.297) and third to Sergio Perez (1:44.462). We should also note that Charles Leclerc was not the best, 1:44.553, so he will start only fourth.
I think it has been really positive for us, It's always really hard to expect how you are going to rock up here but I think we prepared really well before we got here and as soon as we put the car on the track it has been really enjoyable to drive. I am surprised with the gap, I don't expect it to be that big tomorrow in the race, but it is very positive, especially when you have to start from the back. If you have a competitive car it can help of course a lot to move forward again. I am just targeting a podium and with a bit of luck a win.
Max Verstappen
There is some potential because we didn't prepare qualifying as much as we normally do but when you see the gap to Max it's a bit worrying. They are extremely quick... and we can't quite explain why. They seem to have found something this weekend. We'll try our best tomorrow, but they seem to have found something this weekend. They are way too fast - there is nothing we could have done.
