Top Esports

Judging by the play-in results, Top Esports players had some problems. The Brazilians from LOUD imposed the fight on the second team of China, and Fnatic managed to squeeze the card away. Since this is the first appearance of Top Esports at MSI, it is quite understandable for the team to stumble on the big stage. However, MSI will not forgive mistakes in the main stage.

But in the main stage the Chinese team pleasantly surprised. Firstly, they simply destroyed the champions of the North American region and were close to success over the formidable Gen.G. It is clear that bookmakers believe in this team and in the loser's net, but with G2 will not be an easy game.

Having made three changes to their roster, Top has looked very formidable since the start of the 2024 season. Aside from bringing in former top-player JDG, one of Top's most underrated acquisitions was Worlds 2021 champion Tian meiko Ye, formerly of EDward Gaming. In the LPL Spring Split playoffs, meiko ranked third in KDA average and awesome assists among support players, keeping his GPM from getting too low. His kill percentage is also pretty decent, ranking fourth. However, it's worth noting that Meiko had the second highest number of games among all support players during the playoffs.

G2 Esports

At this point, G2 Esports remains the only Western team to win the MSI trophy in 2019. Since then, the MSI has been largely dominated by LPL and LCK representatives. Chinese teams (LPL) have won the last three MSI tournaments in a row, and while there is no defending reigning champion this year, this may be G2's best chance to take it by surprise, as the Eastern teams themselves emphasise that the Europeans look stronger than they did last year.

12-time LEC champion Rasmus Caps Winter has been G2's main trump card since joining the team in the 2018 off-season, and he's in great form this year. G2's recent dominance in the winter and spring LEC splits showed just how far they've come from the rest of their opponents in the West. And the Caps' performances during the LEC Spring Split playoffs show how well the leader of the Samurai is playing: according to gol.gg, his average KDA is 6.2 among all mids.

The European champion started right from the main stage and broke into the tournament, almost beating the reigning world champions from T1. But on the fifth map of the battle against Faker, the Europeans couldn't handle the veteran, although according to the draft and the first half of the map's game time they had everything to take the series to themselves. Having fallen into the loser's circle, the G2 players outplayed PSG Talon on class and are ready to upset the Chinese region in the next round.

Expert Betting Tips

The Chinese team are favourites, especially after their extreme performance against Gen.G, but the European champion has already shown that he is in good shape and capable of taking cards from the most formidable opponents, and Top Esports doesn't look like an unbeatable team at this MSI.
