Team Vitality: Not a bad start to the season

This split is off to a good start for Team Vitality. After losing their opening match against MAD Lions, Team Vitality got into the game by beating Misfits Gaming on the second game day. The third game day ended with a very tight win against Team BDS. Thus Team Vitality came out on top 2-1 at the end of the first week. In the second week, the guys will meet Excel and G2 Esports, who need to be beaten.

Team Vitality formed their League of Legends team in December 2015 as their first expansion in PC gaming, acquiring the Gambit Gaming EU LCS Spring 2016 slot. Their first player signed at the time of the announcement was former H2k team support kaSing. Five days later, Vitality added former Gambit player Cabochard, former CW jungler Shook, former ROCCAT mid laner Nukeduck, and former kaSing teammate Hjarnan to their roster. Former Gambit coach Shaunz was signed to the Vitality coaching staff.

Throughout Team Vitality's existence in the LEC, they have always been in the middle positions. The organization's record was second place at the EU LCS 2018 Summer. Team Vitality also competed at Worlds in 2018, but then 9-12th place was the maximum.

Team Vitality signed three new players for this season, leaving only Labrov and Selfmade.

Alphari is a British top laner who has played in the LEC for various teams since 2017, and played in the LCS for Team Liquid in the 2021 season, where he reached Worlds but only placed 12-13 there.

Perkz is a Croatian mid laner who has played his entire career in LEC for G2 Eaports but played for Cloud9 in LCS last season.

Carzzy is a Czech bot laner who played in the German league for a long time until he was spotted by MAD Lions, with whom he was splitting LEC.

The spring split for Team Vitality was good, but not too successful. Finishing the season in sixth place, with a score of 9-9, the guys were able to make the playoffs. Excel could do nothing in the first round of the lower net, losing to Team Vitality 3-2, but in the second round, G2 Esports took the guys out 3-0 on the maps. Before the summer split, the organization did not change its lineup.

Excel: A sudden and very interesting replacement

This Excel split started with the destruction of the team Misfits Gaming, which gave the guys a very good mood for the whole week, which helped in the match against Fnatic. The third game day ended not the most successful result against G2 Esports. At the moment, Excel goes 2-1 in the overall standings. This week, the guys will face Team Vitality and MAD Lions.

Excel began competing in 2015, but then only in the British Leagues. In 2018, after it was revealed that negotiations with other organizations were unsuccessful, there were rumors that exceL was joining the EU LCS as part of the 2019 European franchise. On November 20, Riot Games confirmed that exceL Esports would be one of ten partner teams for the 2019 LEC Spring Split. In the LEC all 3 years, the results have not been the best. In the 2019 season, the team ranked 9-10, but in 20-21 the results got a little better. The 7th-8th place is stable, but not good. Excel has only made replacements for their top laner this season, but they signed Mikyx from G2 Esports before the start of week 2.

Finn is a Swedish top laner who has played in various European teams in his career, including LEC with LCS.

Mikyx is a Slovenian support who has played in LEC all his time, including from 2019 for G2 Esports, where he won a bunch of titles.

The spring split for Excel didn't turn out too well. The guys finished in 5th place, 9-9, thus advancing to the playoffs. The playoffs weren't good at all. With a score of 2-3 on the maps, Excel lost to Team Vitality in the first round of the lower net, thus finishing sixth in the spring split. Before the summer split, the organization decided not to change anything in the lineup.
