The reigning world champions have another chance to win a third MSI title. However, the team is a long way from where they want to be, having endured a series of hardships in their quest to qualify for their first international tournament in 2024. During the spring break, LCK T1 struggled with DDoS attacks that prevented them from training or playing as often as they would have liked. Despite this, they remain one of the best teams in LCK.

The T1 players had to survive the play-in stage of this MSI, where they faced Estral Esports and FlyQuest. Faker and Co. had no trouble at all, and considering that this team has two MSI titles to its name, no one can write off T1, but if anyone can, it's Gen.G Esports and Bilibili Gaming, the latter of whom didn't feel the legendary Faker in their last match. They also struggled in their match against G2 Esports, so there's little faith in T1 at this MSI, but you can't write off the reigning world champions. The T1 roster should have no problems with the North Americans.

It's been four years since Team Liquid won the LCS regional title and qualified for MSI. This year, the five-time LCS champions finally broke the drought and qualified for the international tournament as the best team in the North American region. Team Liquid, who had come close several times but always fell short, finally broke the drought, but the level of LCS teams is still far below what it would take to have faith in Liquid. Despite the highly talented roster, Sean Yeon Song could be a promising AD player to look out for in the Horses' lineup at this tournament.

Last season's LCS Summer Split Rookie of the Year, the Liquid Academy product was promoted to the first team and a revelation for the organisation. He performed well in the group stage but stepped up his game dramatically in the playoffs despite playing the most games in the latter stages. In the playoffs, he had the highest KDA average of 5.9 and the highest kills and assists averages of 6.5 and 7.8. His ultra-aggressive style of play was fun to watch in the LCS, and it will be interesting to see how other teams fare in the MSI.

The bookmakers do not believe in Liquid and this is not surprising. If the North American champions were outsiders against Fnatic, they will be outsiders against T1. Does Team Liquid have a chance in the upcoming match? Only a miracle will help them.
