Royal Never Give Up vs PSG Talon Prediction: The Chinese will win again

The second game day of the Rumble stage of this year's first international LoL tournament will be on Saturday, May 21. Royal Never Give Up, and PSG Talon will meet on the second matchday of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.

The Mid-Season Invitational 2022 is a LAN tournament in the cybersports discipline of League of Legends, featuring the winners of the spring splits of 11 separate Riot leagues, with LCL not sending a representative this spring due to the cancellation of the LCL Spring Split. It was also announced on April 21 that the LPL representative would compete online from China due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and all teams will compete at 35ms to level the playing field. The tournament prize money is $250,000.

The Chinese play this MSI by remote control, and they even increased the ping for all participants in this international tournament. The Chinese team had no problems against PSG Talon, RED Canids, and İstanbul Wildcats in the group. But not a single one of these opponents was even close to the level of play of T1, the more so when they play on home soil. Yes, the Chinese have a slight advantage in online pings, but T1 is now a very serious opponent.

Ahead of the 2021 season, captain and oldest player RNG Xiaohu announced a change of playing position, moving from his usual mid to top line, resulting in one of the highest-ranked role changes. Royal Never Give Up won the LPL 2021 spring season, securing a trip to MSI 2021, where the squad will win their first international title since 2018. Royal Never Give Up later qualified for Worlds 2021 with a 3-0 win over Team WE in the LPL 2021 regional final. After finishing first in their group ahead of Hanwha Life Esports, Royal Never Give Up was eliminated by EDward Gaming in the quarterfinals in the BO5 series, resulting in a 5-8 finish.

To call the season a failure for Royal Never Give Up would be an understatement. And the line-up of this team did not change much in anticipation of the new 2022 season. Xiaohu once again returned to the mid. This is more due to the wishes of the player himself. Accordingly, the team RNG leaves former mid Yuekai, who will now play in Invictus Gaming. Bin, who played well for Suning and was vice-champion of the 2020 World Cup, has been signed for the vacant top spot. Another young mid, Cryin, has returned to the club's system from Ultra Prim.

The Royal Never Give Up team was the winner of the LPL Spring Split. The team has certainly not weakened, and they have shown a good game, so if they don't fool around - they should secure themselves a high place on this MSI. It will be difficult to repeat the success of 2021, but we will be able to see the Chinese even in the online playoffs.

PSG Talon have signed Maple as the new mid for 2021. They went 17-1 in the regular season and beat J Team and Beyond Gaming to win the title and qualify for the MSI 2021. They finished 4th, but in the new season, Maple is no longer part of that team, and indeed PSG Talon does not look like a team capable of repeating their previous year's achievement at MSI 2022, much less improving on it.

There's a lot to compare PSG Talon this year and last year, but the fact that at this MSI, the team is once again out of the group cannot be taken out of sight. They had a difficult group. In addition to RNG (who can not even leave online), the team met the experienced RED Canids and İstanbul Wildcats. There were problems, especially with the Brazilians, with whom we've exchanged victories. Thanks only to successful games with the Turks, they managed to advance to the tournament's next stage without any problems.

The match against RNG is far from a key one in the battle for the playoffs, but how cool would it be for PSG Talon to take points from the favorites in this clash, although this theory is more like a fantasy.

The game will last longer than 27 minutes; the odds on that are 1.83. The first game in this tournament lasted more than 33 minutes, and the second game didn't even make it to 24. Still, there everything was already clear from the tournament point of view, so I don't advise considering that match as a determining one when choosing the time total for the game of this important stage.

The total kill will be over 29.5 for 1.83.

Both teams will kill the dragon, so it's worth the risk that both teams will at least once take the most important match bump for themselves; the odds are 1.57.
