21.05.2022, 14:00
The second game day of the Rumble stage of this year's first international LoL tournament will be on Saturday, May 21. PSG Talon and Evil Geniuses will face off on the fourth matchday of the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.
The Mid-Season Invitational 2022 is a LAN tournament in the cybersports discipline of League of Legends, featuring the winners of the spring splits of 11 separate Riot leagues, with LCL not sending a representative this spring due to the cancellation of the LCL Spring Split. It was also announced on April 21 that the LPL representative would compete online from China due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and all teams will compete at 35ms to level the playing field. The tournament prize money is $250,000.

PSG Talon has signed Maple as the new mid for 2021. They went 17-1 in the regular season and beat J Team and Beyond Gaming to win the title and qualify for the MSI 2021. They finished 4th, but in the new season, Maple is no longer part of that team, and indeed PSG Talon does not look like a team capable of repeating their previous year's achievement at MSI 2022, much less improving on it.
There's a lot to compare PSG Talon this year and last year, but the fact that at this MSI, the team is once again out of the group cannot be taken out of sight. They had a difficult group. In addition to RNG (who can not even leave online), the team met the experienced RED Canids and İstanbul Wildcats. There were problems, especially with the Brazilians, with whom we've exchanged victories, and only thanks to successful games with the Turks, they managed to advance to the next stage of the tournament without any problems.
The EG match is crucial in the battle for the playoffs, but PSG Talon will have a tough time against the Americans, who have already learned a lot from their group-stage games against G2.
Evil Geniuses: A game with few chances
It is hard to imagine the Evil Geniuses boys among the participants in the decisive phase of the playoffs, but with PSG Talon and Saigon Buffalo, the team will fight for the last place in the knock-out games. EG made it out of the group by beating ORDER from Australia, but they stand no chance for the Ocean representatives. They do not have such opponents in the Rumble stage, so every game is very important for the Americans.
The Evil Geniuses team appeared in League of Legends in 2013. The organization played 2 splits in the EU LCS before moving to North America in 2014. After experiencing difficulties in North America, Evil Geniuses announced their departure from League of Legends and sold their place in the league to team Winterfox. EG returned to the NA LCS in 2019, acquiring the Echo Fox franchise seat, bringing the brand back after a 5-year break.
Back in the big LoL, the Evil Geniuses were only happy with the 2020 Spring Split bronze, and all of 2021 can just be forgotten... But! In the off-season, the EG organization strengthened the roster: Inspired Forest came from Rogue right after the World Cup, and Jojopyun, an EG Academy pupil, strengthened the mid position. Vulcan came from Cloud9.
The replacements brought immediate results. Evil Geniuses won the LCS Spring Split, defeating 100 Thieves 3-0 in the final. For the first time since 2013, EG will be represented in an international LoL tournament, and the North Americans have a good chance of showing their worth.
Expert Betting Tips
The Evil Geniuses team will win this game with a handicap (-3.5) kills; the odds on that are 1.83.
The number of kills is expected to be high. Therefore Total Over 27.5 for 1.83 looks like a good option to bet on.
The game won't be fast, so a map duration over 32 for 1.83 is also a great option to bet on.
