G2 Esports

Samurai were expected to be in the final stage of the autumn BLAST final, but the team approaches the playoffs in a bad mood. After a classic victory over FaZe (2:1) followed another defeat by Natus Vincere (0:2). This defeat was the ninth consecutive defeat in the history of face-to-face meetings with the Born to win, during the match, NiKo was not shy to show all the negative emotions. Will the Samurai be able to recover from this setback in 24 hours?

In the match against Natus Vincere, there was a good first half on Dust II, but after changing sides, G2 Esports failed to cope with the opponent's attack. The team managed to defend their punt only once, while the opponent kambeked with a score of 4:8. The story continued at Ancient, where the Samurai had 3:9 after the first half and minimal chances to kambek. Surprisingly, G2 Esports was losing situations on shooting, where it is historically considered one of the best teams in the world. In open shootouts, the team shows a modest 47% for the tournament, and on the power play, they only realize 60%, the worst figure among all participants of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024. The team plays best in attack (65%) but fails miserably in defense (30%). G2 Esports has once again reached the point where m0NESY (1.32 HLTV rating for the tournament) has become the main strike force, with NiKo occasionally helping him out and the rest of the team struggling to cross the borderline positive rating mark.

Now, paying attention to G2 Esports stats makes no sense for a simple reason: Born to Win was stronger in all aspects in the face-to-face encounter. Samurai have historically had huge problems with them, but no one else gives them so much inconvenience. A little earlier, with FaZe, we saw a habitually strong G2 Esports with four strong performers and a capable manager, Snax. The team is in shape, everything is good inside, and they will be a comfortable enough opponent in the quarter-finals.

Team Spirit

The Dragons made it through the playoffs of the BLAST Autumn Finals, although they were expected to dominate and win convincingly. Team Spirit lost to Team Liquid (1:2), later won against Astralis (2:1), but with incredible difficulty. The team shows unstable performances, none of the players can boast great form, not even donk.

Statistics say that Team Spirit is very dependent on its young leader. If donk performs another miracle, the team wins, but if he plays at a mediocre, human level, the Dragons lose. But even more frightening is the form of zont1x. In the spring, cool play from donk was backed up by incredible punt defence and feel for the game from zont1x. After the summer break, the support player is 'storming' - literally in one series he can play perfectly on one map, and on the next he can fail to hit his opponents. There is an opinion in the community that it's time to remove the Ukrainian from the squad, but these are harsh words. Team Spirit needs Zont1x in prime, and the team needs to do everything they can to get him back to his best form. Team Spirit plays the majority situations perfectly (90%), while at the same time they are terrible at executing the minority (17%). 'The Dragons are slightly better on defense (55%) than in attack (48%). But what the chopper team has no problem with is the pistol rounds: 9-3 in the tournament, 75% wins.

The last match against Astralis left a lot of questions about Team Spirit's play. In places, this is the same strong team that won three tournaments in 2024, but periodically, they get into a stupor and forget how CS2 works at the dash-1 level. Opponents no longer fear donk, and sh1ro doesn't show the same impressive performance, though he remains one of the most consistent players on the team. The Dragons have mental problems as well: the guys are young, they tend to be worried and anxious, and this is their first full year at the highest level. They remember the last defeat by G2 Esports in Cologne and the disgraceful 13-16th place at IEM Cologne 2024. We don't doubt Team Spirit's strength, but the question is different: what conclusions did the Dragons draw from that match? And with what mood will they come back to the server?

Expert Betting Tips

Probably for the first time in a year, we see Team Spirit as an outsider, according to HLTV and bookmakers. Expectations for donk and company have ground to a halt and now team skill comes to the forefront. G2 Esports has beaten Team Spirit twice in head-to-head meetings. Samurai is the most uncomfortable opponent for donk in his career, they always find ways to finish off Team Spirit's young talent. We don't believe the Dragons will be able to get their first win over G2 Esports in 2024 here in Copenhagen.
