Qualifying for The International 10 South East Asia will kick off on Wednesday, June 30. The biggest tournament of all regions with a bunch of favourites, but only one will make it to the International.
The International 10 Southeast Asia Qualifier is the Southeast Asian qualifier for Dota2, The International 10. The 15 teams from the region who didn’t make it directly to the International will compete for a spot in the main event. The Asia region will determine the winner from June 30 to July 03, 2021.
TNC Predator: The legendary team beats for the International
Who would have thought TNC Predator would fail to qualify for the International directly? But the legendary Asian team failed in two DPC leagues. In the first one, they took 4th place and were left without a place in the Singapore major, and in the second league, the boys themselves gave the championship to the T1 boys, sensationally losing the final few games.
In Kyiv, in the second major of the season, TNC Predator performed well in the group stage, but they got nowhere in the playoffs, though they did beat Team Aster 1-2 in the first round, which was one of the sensations of the tournament. Already in the next round, the Asian team lost to eventual vice-champion Evil Geniuses (1:2).
TNC Predator are the main contenders to qualify for the International and it would be a sensation if they were to be left out of the main tournament of the year.
Team SMG: A new challenge
Team SMG rocketed to prominence with the formation of a new line-up led by the legendary “Mushi”. But the team did not take off at all. They failed to qualify for the elite division of the first DPC league and could not even make it to the second division.
In the second DPC league, the boys managed to make it to the second division, winning the qualifications, which were also not without luck and removing their opponents, who had already knocked them out of the tournament. But in the league itself, they performed very well, finishing in 2nd place and reaching the elite for next season.
It’s unlikely that Team SMG will make it to the International in these Asian qualifiers, but they won’t leave the tournament without a fight.
