The Cut vs 5RATFORCESTAFF Prediction: A battle of the region's top outsiders

On the night of Thursday, June 16, the second week of play in the third round of the DPC Regional Dota 2 League North America will continue. The Cut and 5RATFORCESTAFF will continue another game day of the league's summer tourney.

DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament that will run from June 07 to July 13, 2022. Eight of the strongest teams from the North American region will compete for $205,000. In addition to cash prizes, teams battle for two trips to the majors and the important DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

The Cut is a North American team created for the 2021 DPC season under Scourge McDuck. Notably, this particular squad was the North American Division II champion in the DPC league's first winter round of the 2021/22 season. The team did not know the taste of defeat for the entire winter tour, but the guys could not repeat their success in the elite division, but two wins in the spring were enough to keep their place in the first division for the summer tour as well.

In the offseason the squad underwent changes again. Three new players came to the squad at once:

High_shaggy from Canada was the new second position. He made his pro debut under the pseudonym Canus Vulpus for Arkosh Gaming.

The new three was Rajjix. Notably, he is also a streamer for the British cybersports organization Into The Breach.

The newfound five in this team was Jubei. This player came to the competitive scene in 2013, for several years he played for various North American stacks and even played briefly in South Korea for MVP HOT6ix. In 2021, Jubei helped form the Black N Yellow team that competed in the NA DPC during 2021 and 2022. Eventually, Jubei left the team in early 2022 to form a new team, The Mystery Machine. Now he's the new five-man The Cut.

The lineup is far from perfect, especially against the backdrop of major vice-champions TSM, who destroyed them in the first game of this regional league. The confrontation with 5RATFORCESTAFF will show what this team will claim this summer.

5RATFORCESTAFF is a North American team formed to compete in the North American Regional DPC League 2021-2022. The team has changed its roster constantly over the three rounds, and the summer was no exception.

Before the summer tour, the team was joined by Speeed, a second position carry, an unremarkable player, known in the American region as a creator of content for the YouTube channel GameLeap Dota 2. Overall, the 5RATFORCESTAFF lineup is purely American. Most of the pack has been playing together since February of this year, and they are the ones who took this team to the elite division by winning the second in the spring round: dnm, Lil_Nick, Giant and albinozebra1. Notably, most of the players of this team had previously defended the honor of The Cut, so this match is a matter of principle for this team.
