The BTS Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia playoffs will begin on Wednesday, August 11. Team SMG and Army Geniuses will face off first in a knock-out round to see the Malaysians emerge as the clear favourites.
BTS Pro Series Season 7: Southeast Asia is a Dota 2 online tournament from August 02-15, 2021. Eight Asian teams will compete for $50,000, two of which are participants in The International 10.
Team SMG: A star-studded team in good shape
Team SMG has some stellar Malaysian players at their disposal who could quickly strengthen any Southeast Asian TIR-1 team, but they are not yet able to reach the result in the current stakes.
This team was seen by some experts as possible winners of the Asian qualifiers for the International 10, further highlighting the level of star characters in some positions. But after failing to qualify for the year's main tournament, the boys started to play in many low-rated tournaments.
The BTS Pro Series is an excellent opportunity to make themselves known and win at least one significant tournament under this tag. The squad did not do as well as they would have liked in the group stage. They have two wins, three draws, and two defeats, with a 7-7 record on the cards. That's not bad, but it wasn't enough for the top seed in the playoffs, so the Malaysian stars have to fight straight into the losers' bracket without a margin for error.
