Talon Esports: One Won't Miss a Gift of Fortune

At the main tournament ESL One Malaysia 2022, in addition to the winners of regional qualifications, in August will come directly invited teams and today it became known that one team refused to participate, and therefore the fate of the slot will be decided in the the Southeast's Asia qualification. Talon Esports deserve to take part in this event, but to beat BOOM Esports in the battle for the only slot is a big task. But now everything is easier - kick out Polaris Esports, get a slot and play BO5 match for respect. By the way, BOOM Esports and Talon Esports wouldn't want to play this match, because they would have the slots but not the money.

Talon Esports' Asian project is finally starting to pay off. Top-seeded 23savage got the team out of the second division and immediately earned the organization's first-ever majors and a vice-champion slot in the elite division of the Asian Regional DPC. Moreover, the guys played re-match with BOOM Esports for first place, plus they are the only ones in Asia to have beaten the champs.

However, we might not see the full Talon Esports team the majors in the U.S. The fourth position support Q which is likely to lead to a replacement. That means it is extremely important for the guys to cling to the chance of qualifying for ESL One Malaysia 2022, as long as the game is going smoothly in the guys, and to qualify for TI11 need to approach the maximum in combat readiness. Talon Esports started this qualification without losses, beating RSG (2:1) and TNC Predator (2:1) on the first game day. Yesterday, there was a match against BOOM Esports (1:2) in the finals of the winners, which was a three-card game, but still marked the defeat of the 23savage team.

Talon Esports is a Hong Kong-based eSports organization that broke into the Dota 2 world in November 2021. It started out ambitious: the Fly and Gabbi signings sounded formidable, but the star-studded lineup couldn't even make it out of the second division, which immediately forced the "Stars" to leave this project. Not from the first time the team passed the open quals, in the first round and even became the fifth in the lower league, but the organization did not immediately shut down the project, just formed a different lineup, which brought the result.

The big move of 23savage from the T1 first position was an important aspect that helped the team take second place in the second division at the end of the second DPC league spring round and get a ticket to the elite, where the guys are going to show us their power. The roster after the spring and summer rounds has not changed, the team did not play anywhere else, and systematically prepared for the American majors and qualifying for TI11.

Polaris Esports: Bit More Than They Can Chew

Polaris Esports has officially dropped out of the elite Asian division, the guys could not win a series in the last summer tourney, which is very sad considering their great game back in the spring.

Polaris Esports is a Filipino team that was formed in September 2021. From the start, the team has established itself as a combative and serious team, for a fourth place in the first division of the spring regional DPC league speaks volumes. Of course, the pack was focused on making it to TI11. They started in the second division, which they won safely after the first winter round, while also playing in a number of tournaments that they won.

It has become a good tradition in the Asian region that people from the lower divisions are not lost, but enter the top 4 of the Southeast Asian elite. So it was in the winter with SMG, so it happened in the spring with Polaris Esports. The team did not make it to the majors, which upset the organization a little bit and the bosses decided to strengthen their lineup a little. The Philippine boys started the summer tour with newcomers: the trio of Nevermine (transferred from Summit Gaming) and the five of Tmv (GrindSky Esports). Whether or not it was a reinforcement was shown by the summer tour, Polaris Esports only won their eleventh season of the BTS tournament, and the guys finished the summer DPC league with a resounding 0-7 in the stats.

This lineup couldn't have remained unchanged after the debacle. The team continues to search for a 5th position backup. In desperation they put the current coach eyyou to play now, since, at the moment, there are no suitable candidates. On the plus side, they put the Filipino Force back on the three, a decision that should look better on the game than with Nevermine.

In this qualification Polaris Esports was a real discovery. The team started with a loss from Team SMG (0:2). Getting into the loser's bracket, the team defeated their opponents from Summit Gaming (2:1), TNC Predator (2:1) and even T1 (2:1). In the last two games the odds were as high as 9.00 with the score tied, but that didn't stop Polaris Esports from going into the decisive game day and fighting for a slot in the biggest LAN tournament today.
