On Wednesday, May 12, the next game day of the second season of the DPC League in the Southeast Asia division will take place. OB Esports x Neon needs to defeat Lilgun to return to the race for the Major.
Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S2 - Southeast Asia Upper Division is the second regional DPC league in Southeast Asia. The leagues are divided into first and second divisions, each of which has 8 teams. In the first division, the fight is for two tickets to the Major and a prize pool of $205,000. In the second division, among the teams, there is a contest for two tickets to the elite division of the second regional league and a prize fund of $75,000. The games will run from April 14 to May 20, 2021.
OB Esports x Neon: The Filipinos are a nasty surprise
The OB Esports x Neon team performed well in the first Asian DPC league. These players held the lead for a long time, but in the end, they lost ground. Thanks to the replays from T1, the guys found themselves in the group stage of the Singapore Major and successfully reached the playoffs, where they climbed the TOP-6 teams of the tournament.
The Filipinos played in Singapore with a forced substitution, but they start their second DPC season in their standard lineup. The first season they played surprisingly well, many people underestimated them, but now it is impossible to win with a rush, everyone will fight with Neon as the best team in Asia.
The guys started the new season with a victory over BOOM Esports (2-0), but in the second game of the tournament, they were defeated by TNC Predator (1-2). Then there was an even more surprising defeat from the Filipino colleagues from Execration (1-2). In the last round, Omega Esports were beaten (2-0), which allowed the guys to still hope to get to the Major.
Lilgun: Last chance for the Mongols
The Lilgun team appeared in January 2021 and consisted of purely Mongolian players who surprised the whole region by winning the second division with a convincing result.
The Mongols were distinguished by the excellent organization of their game, it was evident that the second division was not their place. In the offseason, Mongolian players participated in some non-rated tournaments and lost almost all their games there. Is this a bad form? We do not think the priority of this DPC team. The feature of this team is their love for the “vile” heroes. Where else can you see a Lycan ban in the first stage, even in the absence of necrophos?
In the first match of the season, the Mongols lost 1-2 to the Omega Esports team. They won the second map on the branded Huskar; in the more or less default drafts, the weak level of play of the entire team stands out. The second game was with BOOM Esports and the Mongols lost to them 2-0. The T1 team did not experience any problems with the Mongols either and beat them 2-0, with the same success they were lost by the Lilgun team and the meeting with Fnatic 2-0.
If the Mongols don’t want any problems, they have to start winning now. This is their last chance to keep their place in the elite.
