On Saturday, June 18, the second game week of the third round of the DPC North America Regional Dota 2 League will continue. Evil Geniuses and The Cut will kick off the next game day of the league's summer tourney.
DPC NA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I is an online Dota 2 tournament that will run from June 07 to July 13, 2022. Eight of the strongest teams from the North American region will compete for $205,000. In addition to cash prizes, teams battle for two trips to the majors and the important DPC points needed to qualify for T11.

Once again, Evil Geniuses is in the spotlight, and once again, just like in winter, because of bad luck. The favorite of the North American region started the first winter tour with two defeats in a row, Evil Geniuses also started the third summer tour with a loss against nouns (1:2), which caused a storm of anger, and that's not surprising, especially against the background of the failed majors.
Evil geniuses should urgently forget the last major in Sweden, where they became the worst team in the world if we don't consider the Mind Games players who didn't make it to Stockholm at all. This result is no way to adequately evaluate this team, especially after the two finals of the previous tournaments, and the upcoming international tournament will be held in the U.S. in front of the native audience.
The bosses put all the failures on JerAx, who failed to wow the public with his game after returning to professional Dota. In his place of the five and captain returned, Fly rested and familiar to most of this squad.
It's hard to imagine who in the North American region right now, except TSM, can really put up a real fight against Evil Geniuses. The team has to finish in the Top 2 and go to the home majors, though the summer tour will be very important for many American teams to score more DPC points before the final TI11 Qualifiers. That's why I don't expect easy life for EG, and the match with nouns showed it, but they made conclusions from their game and easily defeated their tough opponent, Wildcard Gaming (2-0), in the second summer match. Today the opponent is as pleasant and easy as possible, but it is dangerous to relax EG.
The Cut: The defining match for this lineup
The Cut is a North American team created during the 2021 DPC season under Scourge McDuck. Notably, this squad was the North American Division II champion in the DPC League's first winter tour of the 2021/22 season. The team did not know the taste of defeat for the entire winter tour, but the guys could not repeat their success in the elite division. But two wins in the spring were enough to keep their place in the first division for the summer tour as well.
In the offseason, the squad changed again. Three new players came to the team: high_shaggy, Rajjix, Jubei.
The squad wasn't perfect, especially considering the vice-champions of the Majors TSM (0:2), who crushed them in the first match of this regional league. The confrontation with 5RATFORCESTAFF (2-1) showed that The Cut with zero wins won't finish this summer split, but seeing their level of performance... The guys have no chance against EG.
