Team Spirit vs Sprout Prediction: Team Spirit to win

October 31-November 13 will mark the second major CS:GO event of the 2022 competition season. Twenty-four teams have been selected through the regional RMR qualifiers – eight will begin their journey with the Legends stage and another sixteen will embark on the journey with the Challengers stage. The winner of the IEM Rio Major 2022 will receive $500,000, BLAST ranking points, and invites to ESL Katowice 2023 and BLAST Premier: World Final.

Team Spirit is 1-2 in the IEM Rio Major 2022. In the first match the Russian team managed to outplay Bad News Eagles, not allowing their opponent to take a single round on Ancient for defense. However, after that the team suffered two defeats and was one step away from leaving the tournament. As for the maps, Team Spirit, most likely, should pick Ancient. The team showed a very confident game on this map in the majors. Especially for the attacking side. Sprout looks noticeably weaker on this map. You can remember its defeat by ex-Finest or Bad News Eagles, which Team Spirit outplayed very easily. Of course, it would be even better for the Russian team to play on Nuke, but Sprout will definitely ban this map.

Sprout managed to go straight to the Legends stage at the IEM Rio Major 2022. This is a great result for the team, even if they do not make the playoffs. The first two matches at the major did not work out for the Europeans. The team lost to BIG and Team Liquid, taking only five rounds from the latter. Nevertheless, in bo3 Sprout was able to beat Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-0. It would be very hard to make it to the playoffs. There are too strong opponents in the Legends Stage. In the match with Team Spirit the Europeans will pick Vertigo or Overpass. The first map is one of the strongest in the Sprout pool, and the Russian team has played only two official games in the last three months on the second. They have won both, so the Vertigo option seems more realistic. Even there, Team Spirit will feel as comfortable as possible. Not so long ago, the Dragons beat Cloud9 there, and it won't be hard for them to handle the Danes.

Team Spirit have been unlucky with their opponents which puts them on the verge of leaving the major. The Russian team shows a good game and was close to win all Legends Stage matches. Now they have an easier opponent to beat. Sprout, on the other hand, could only outplay NiP, which completely failed the tournament.
