Newcomer malbsMd is proving he was invited to a top organization for a reason. He can even replace the Kovacs brothers if they struggle on the server. The current version of G2 Esports is different from the others. In BLAST, he can practice with good opponents and work on team play.

Ninjas are making the most of the opportunities at the tier-1 level, while BLAST and ESL agreements are still in place. Playing in BLAST groups lets Ninjas in Pyjamas play with the top players and gain extra points in the HLTV rankings, which helps them stay in the top 20 almost all the time. It has to be said that the seventeenth-place HLTV doesn't reflect the quality of the game.

If we don't count YaLLa Compass 2024, where Ninjas in Pyjamas took second place, the last time the team pleased its fans was in 2022 when it won the Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022. Generally, Ninjas don't make it past the first matches in the play-in phase. Even at the tier-2 level, they struggle to hold their own against the competition, and the lineups change every six months or so. But as we said earlier, this story has a silver lining. Ninjas in Pyjamas at YaLLa Compass 2024 beat Astralis, Heroic, and FURIA Esports and almost won the title before the break. The Swedish company has always had a national roster but recently invited Ukrainian players. Last year, Natus Vincere's strategy ended his career here. Now, all eyes are on r1nkle, and so far, the sniper is delivering. In particular, he could have won the Most Valuable Player award at YaLLa Compass 2024 if Ninjas in Pyjamas had won the title.

It's not what anyone's expecting from the team, and even if they do well, it'll be a big deal. Ninjas in Pyjamas might have a surprise up their sleeves in the series, but it won't be against G2 Esports. It's important to remember that the current level of Ninjas is tier-2, which means they're not quite at the top of their game.
