G2 eSports crashed ESL Pro League Season 15. The team scored just two wins in five matches, which sent G2 into 17th-20th place. For a team trying to compete for the top 1 of the HLTV rankings, this is an awful result. After that, the team rested for over a month and could prepare for the tournament in peace. M0NESY should feel better, the adaptation is in full swing and very soon we will see the Russian sniper in full combat readiness.
As for maps, G2 eSports, of course, would like to play Inferno, but in bo1 it's not possible. But to play Nuke or Ancient is fine. Most likely, it is between these two maps and the teams will think. G2 eSports will get rid of Overpass, Mirage, and probably Dust2 due to recent poor results on this map. The Poles will cross out Vertigo and Inferno. This layout should suit G2 eSports. On both of these maps, the team can play, and quite well. Yes, there was a failed ESL Pro League Season 15, but now for the French should be a completely different game.
Anonymo: The Poles will be difficult
Anonymo is one of the weakest teams in the HLTV rankings at PGL Major Antwerp 2022: Europe RMR Group B, trailing only ASG who are unranked for the tournament. Nevertheless, almost everybody in Anonymo is an experienced team, which has been playing in the T-2 scene for many years. The Poles' recent results are depressing. The Poles lost eight of their last nine matches and could only beat the Finns, who are ranked 150th in the HLTV ranking.
The Polish team plays all seven of their maps, but only two of them have a 60% win rate. One of those maps is the Nuke which can be played in the upcoming bo1. However, the entire win rate is packed on very weak teams. Anonymo has only had one serious opponent on Nuke in the last three months and that is Copenhagen Flames. The Danish match was lost by a score of 0-16. At Ancient, the boys can't boast any serious results either. It is doubtful, that the Poles can take more than 7-8 rounds on one of these maps.
