FaZe Clan unexpectedly failed the last major in Rio. The result impacted the team's potential chances at the Intel Grand Slam. The karrigan team lost all their group-stage matches. However, at the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals, the European squad recovered and gave the tough final to Heroic.
broky got the MVP trophy and an average rating of 1.29. In general, after the failure in Rio, the team played at a very high level - only karrigan got less than a 1.10 HLTV rating. At the BLAST Premier: Fall Finals, FaZe Clan made a Kill/Deaths score of +117 over ten maps, won 57% of rounds, played well in five for four (32%), won 55% of pistol rounds, and did 33 units of grenade damage.
Failure in Brazil gave the players a boost, and now they are not thinking about how to continue their dominant winning streak but about daily progress and regaining their form. Karrigan has a lot of experience working with star teams, so only count on relaxation or underestimation on the part of FaZe Clan: At BLAST Premier: Fall Finals, the team will try to finish the triumphant year of 2022 logically.
G2 Esports
- Current HLTV rating: #12.
- Last three months' changes: -6.
- Best map in terms of win rate: Nuke - 100% for one map.
- Worst map in terms of win rate: Mirage - 28% for seven maps.
G2 Esports experiment now repeats all the previous mistakes and ups. In September, the roster showed excellent play, and the NiKo-huNter-m0NESY trio was consistently among the top 10 players in tournaments. Unfortunately, the dream ended in the IEM Rio Major Qualifiers, where HooXi crashed and burned against their T3 opponents.
G2 Esports played the last games at BLAST Premier: Fall Finals. In Copenhagen, it played three games:
- Lost to Team Liquid.
- Beat Fluxo.
- They gave away the victory to Heroic on the third map in the quarterfinals.
- Dropped out.
No qualitative transformation of the gameplay could be made: the game is still based on individual exploits of team stars, and successful rounds alternate with unsuccessful ones. HooXi and jks are at the bottom of the individual rankings, and the overall team statistics are average. The only thing G2 Esports has excelled at is the pistol rounds. At the last tournament, the team made 11 out of fourteen attempts.
G2 Esports is not a contender to win the tournament. Any opponent with established team moves and quality strategies will blow the team to smithereens. Ilya can play at the 2022 HLTV top-10 level, but there's only a way to think about winning once the Europeans have all five players on the same level.
Expert Betting Tips
Both teams went through a setback this fall, but they reacted to it in different ways. FaZe Clan already proved in two weeks that the majors' failure should be considered an exceptional mistake. G2 looks worse with each tournament. With a high probability, karrigan's team will start with a victory.
