Complexity vs BetBoom Team Prediction: Can Complexity finish in first place in Group B?

Complexity finished the first day of YaLLa Compass 2024 with two wins over Eternal Fire (16:13) and BIG (13:5). Apparently, EliGE and company are serious about taking the title, and have been claiming local triumphs over tough opponents since the beginning of the tournament. Can Complexity finish in first place in Group B?

This is a tier 1.5 tournament, and although there are some very interesting teams here too, there are no terrible tops. Complexity always has two problems - only EliGE pulls in important matches, and absolute disaster with top opponents. But in Abu Dhabi the leader of Complexity is helped by Grim - sometimes the American also shoots well, and in UAE he performs at the level of top ten players of the tournament. Hallzerk hasn't lost his place in the team yet, although there has been some speculation about that, and is also stable with AWP at the current level. Within YaLLa Compass 2024, the team played Inferno and Anubis, on both Complexity has a strong positive winrate of 67%. No one is taking a chance on playing EliGE Collective on Vertigo, because over the last three months there the winrate is 100% for 8 cards.

If Grim can become Complexity's second option at least in Abu Dhabi, there won't be as much focus on EliGE as there used to be. Two scary threats are better than one, and with this approach, the team has a better chance of winning opponents. Complexity needs to win the title and reclaim their spot in the HLTV top 10.

BetBoom Team remains the most unpredictable team in CS2. In Abu Dhabi, they consistently fails in prediction: they beats Fnatic (13:7) and BIG (13:9) without a chance, but are completely screwed by FURIA Esports (1:13). If you believe the logic, the nafany team plays hard against strong opponents, and has problems with the obvious outsiders.

The meeting with the Brazilians had a big impact on the ratings of the players - none of them are in the top 10 of the YaLLa Compass 2024 individual leaderboard, while nafany and s1ren did not overcome the positive values. BetBoom Team has good rounds in attack (65% winrate), but they can't hold their ground in defence (38%). The poor power play (67%) is offset by excellent penalty kill (37%). The team shoots abysmally in open duels (43%), but has a 2:1 record in Group B. BetBoom Team's stats are so inconsistent that it's hard to draw any conclusions from the game. As usual on the servers, good action is followed by bad action. Maybe it's nerves, or maybe it's just a lack of stability.

BetBoom Team approaches the second day of play in an interesting position. The game is clearly not a playoff game, but the opponents made mistakes and gave them a chance to finish in the top three of the group. There are some very tough matches ahead with Complexity and Eternal Fire, and we need to pick up a win in one of them. Maybe nafany and company will be lucky in the second one, but it will be very difficult to fight with the American team.

EliGE and Grim can take apart BetBoom Team's game on the server. Finally Complexity has not only the leader playing, and this is a fundamental factor for believing in the victory of this team. BetBoom Team can resist on character, but it is unlikely to take the match in their favour.
