CLG: Mistakes are Too Expensive

CLG started this split pretty confidently. Having confidently beaten Dignitas on the first game day, Counter Logic Gaming set up to play well this super week. The second game day, albeit with problems, went into CLG's account, beating TSM. The third game day continued the guys' winning streak. Golden Guardians tried to do something, but it wasn't enough. At the end of the first week, Counter Logic Gaming went 3-0, which was very good. The second week started less well than the first. In the opening match, CLG lost to FlyQuest, stopping their win streak. On the second game day, the guys in a tense encounter beat Evil Geniuses, thus remaining in first place in the overall standings. At the beginning of the week, CLG lost to Cloud9 with not the most pleasant draft, which dropped them from first place in the overall standings immediately to third. At the end of the week, CLG faced Team Liquid, who dropped their opponents even lower in the standings. Week 4 started with a victory over Immortals but ended with a loss against 100 Thieves. Thereby CLG now disputes fourth place with FlyQuest.

At the beginning of the fifth week, the CLG met with Evil Geniuses, who did not leave a chance to the guys, thus sending CLG to a series of losses of two games in a row. After that defeat, the guys took five games in a row before the start of Super Week. The CLGs failed in the Super Week itself. After losing to TSM and 100 Thieves, the guys only beat Immortals in the last match of the season. CLG's first opponent in the playoff stage will be Cloud9, whom the guys almost beat, but with a score of 2-3 on the cards, Cloud9 took this meeting. CLG defeated Golden Guardians in the bottom grid by scoring 3-2 on the maps. The next opponent, CLG, was Team Liquid, which would be very difficult to beat.

Counter Logic Gaming, often abbreviated to CLG, is a recognized professional gaming organization whose teams compete at the highest level worldwide. They are known for their League of Legends team, which is the oldest such team. Counter Logic Gaming was created as a League of Legends team on April 16, 2010, by George "HotshotGG" Georgalidis after parting ways with his former team due to internal disagreements. While the original League of Legends squad consisted of ten players, their starting lineup of five soon formed: HotshotGG, bigfatlp, Kobe, Chauster and Elementz. Since then, Counter Logic Gaming has won 2 NA LCS titles and two regional tournaments and finished second to MSI. The CLG flopped the spring split, finishing in eighth place, 6-12. Before the summer split, the organization decided to replace only its toplaner.

Team Liquid: the Poor Match

This split started very well for Team Liquid. After defeating Immortals without giving up a single kill, the guys set themselves up victoriously for this super week. The second game day went just as well. Dignitas could not face Team Liquid, who beat them in 25 minutes. The third game day of the first week was also good. Cloud9, though, tried to do something, but it wasn't enough. The second week came out a little worse. The guys made many mistakes, thereby losing to TSM on the starting day of week two. Currently, Team Liquid is going 3-1 in the overall standings. The match against FlyQuest came close, but the guys took it, thus coming closer and closer to first place. At the beginning of the third week, Team Liquid could do nothing in the match against 100 Thieves, thereby falling to the fourth line. After that, however, everything just started. At the end of the third week, Team Liquid defeated CLG, and at the beginning of the fourth week, they continued their winning streak, defeating Golden Guardians and thus reaching second place in the overall standings. At the end of the week, Team Liquid faced Evil Geniuses, who didn't allow the guys to get first place. At the beginning of the fifth week, Team Liquid easily defeated Immortals, but that didn't help the guys to reach the first line in the standings. The match against CLG was not the most successful, where Team Liquid gave up their victory. In Week 6, the guys confidently beat TSM but lost to Cloud9. Week 7 came out very well. After winning over FlyQuest, Team Liquid loaded up, then beat Evil Geniuses, Dignitas, and Golden Guardians. In the last match, Team Liquid lost, but the organization came out in second place in the Championship. Team Liquid's first opponent was FlyQuest, who they easily won 3-1 on maps. Next, Team Liquid stumbled, losing to 100 Thieves 3-2 on cards. Having fallen to the bottom of the grid, Team Liquid will meet CLG, which can be calmly beaten.

Team Liquid is a multiplayer team organization founded in the Netherlands in 2000 as StarCraft: Brood War. In January 2015, they merged with Team Curse (not Curse Gaming). In 2015, Team Liquid acquired Curse Gaming to enter League of Legends. This squad finished third in both the spring and summer splits. Team Liquid placed first in the regional finals but lost 1-3 to Cloud9 and did not qualify for the World Championship. In 2016, the lineup would lose 2-3 against Counter Logic Gaming and 0-3 against Immortals in spring 2016, leading to a 4th place finish. The lineup underwent various changes again in the summer, leading Team Liquid to a 5th-6th place finish. They then lost to Team EnvyUs 0-3 in the regional finals, leading to another missed world championship. In the 2021 season, they won the Lock-In tournament and finished 2nd in the spring season. Team Liquid would take 2nd place after an 0-3 loss against the 100 Thieves. By taking second place, they went straight into the group stage of the 2021 World Cup. At the 2021 World Cup, Team Liquid finished 12th-13th along with LNG Esports after a tiebreaker loss against Gen.G, whom they defeated and posted a 3-3 record. This extended Team Liquid's 3-3 streak at the world championships to a fourth straight year.

The spring split for Team Liquid came out great. After taking first place in the overall standings, with a score of 14-4, the guys started their playoff run. After beating Evil Geniuses 3-2, Team Liquid lost to 100 Thieves 3-2 in the next round, dropping to the bottom of the table. Evil Geniuses avenged by beating them 3-0, thus sending Team Liquid into third place. Before the summer split, the organization did not make any substitutions.
