New Zealand (Women) vs. India (Women): Another Exciting Face Off

New Zealand and India were in a 5 match series last month. After 4 continuous losses, India won the previous game-saving themselves from a whitewash. The teams will now oppose each other in the 8th ODI on 10 March 2022 at Seddon Park, New Zealand. 

New Zealand explicitly won 4 games over India but suffered defeat in the last match by 6 wickets. The team gave a target of 252 runs, and Amelia Kere, with 66 runs, was as always the highest-scoring batter. Sophie Devine, Lauren Down, and Hayley Jensen also rose the score. The NZ bowlers had a hard time pressuring India and gained 4 wickets by Hayley Jensen, Hannah Rowe, Fran Jonas, and Amelia Kerr. Sophie gave pretty low runs during her over and was incredible like before. Unfortunately, the team wasn’t fortunate and couldn’t build a streak of 5 wins against India. However, they’ll surely be eager to get back at their usual pace in the next game. In addition, the coming match is NZ’s 3rd match of the series. The team won their last match against Bangladesh by 9 wickets. This will add to their confidence and help them succeed.

After losing 4 successive matches, India was pretty determined to do well and score a victory, and so they did. The team scored 252 with a loss of 4 wickets. Captain Mithali Raj scored a half-century, while Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur earned 71 and 63 runs each. The batters and the bowlers were at their greatest, gaining 9 wickets. Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Deepti Sharma, and Sneh Rana achieved 2 wickets each, while Meghna Singh and Poonam Yadav scored 2. So far, India has played against Pakistan in the World Cup and won by 107 runs which is undoubtedly a tremendous win. With these commendable recent victories, it seems like India is ready to leave a trail of successes, and their coming opponents should remain prepared.
