India vs. Sri Lanka: India Looking to Win the Series 3-0

After crunching Sri Lanka in the 2nd T20 International, team India would be looking to continue their solicited attitude and win the series 3-0. Winning a T20 series 3-0 would certainly boost their ICC MRF Rankings of the format and give them a chance of becoming the favorites of winning the ICC Cricket World Cup in October. Though India in India is unbeatable, Sri Lanka produced some competitive cricket according to their skills and gameplay. In the upcoming encounter, India would be taking chances to win the series 3-0 and maintain their supremacy over Sri Lanka.

Team India has improved their gameplay and overall standards quite significantly. In the second T20 international, we saw some serious chasing abilities of Shreyas Iyer, who was calm and cool, striking the ball to the fences. Iyer scored an unbeaten 74 of 44 deliveries and was supported well by Ravindra Jadeja’s quickfire 45 off 18 deliveries. Going into the game, Indian bowlers leaked away runs; however, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal bowled beautifully, touching an economy of 6.00. With Sanju Samson getting 39 of 25 would have helped him gain confidence and prepare for the upcoming encounter. Going into the 3rd and last T20 international, India is the favorite to win.

After losing to Australia 4-1, the Sri Lankan team was expected to feel the pressure of playing against India in India. In the second T20, their bowlers led them down, though their batsmen were able to put on a show with the bat and get the Sri Lankan team in the driving seat. Pathum Nissanka played a decent 75 runs innings, whereas the skipper scored an unbeaten 47 of 19 deliveries. After such performances, if Sri Lanka couldn’t manage to win, then it’s their hard luck in the game. In their bowling, Dushamantha Chameera gave away runs at an economy of almost 13 runs per over. Praveen Jayawickrama was also expensive, giving 19 runs in 2 overs. Going in the last T20 international, team Sri Lanka needs to consolidate as a team and click together as a single unit. If they want to make it 2-1, they need to play sensibly and with confidence.
