India vs Bangladesh Prediction: India dominated first T20

India are clashing with Bangladesh in the Match 2 of T20 Series at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Central Delhi, India on 09 October, 2024. India were dominants in all three departments in the last game. Who will take away the trophy this time?

India also welcomed back Sanju Samson and Varun Chakravarthy who had missed the first game of the series. He has a score of 29 off 19 balls in the last game, after two successive ducks against Sri Lanka in April. He will open for the team with Abhishek Sharma who has amassed 140 runs in six games at a strike rate of 179.48. The skipper too played a good game in the first match with 29 runs off 14 balls and has a good record of 2461 runs in 69 innings and a strike rate well over 200 against Bangladesh. Nitish Kumar Reddy too will get a nod as Shivam Dube will miss out. Hardik Pandya brilliant in the first game scoring 39 runs off 16 balls, chipping in with 7 wickets against Bangladesh earlier, Anrich Nortje and especially, Arshdeep Singh pocketed three for the last match, debutant Mayank Yadav impressed all with a maiden over and wicket. Also among three wickets was Varun Chakravarthy, who last played three years back. The side will also depend upon the shoulders of Washington Sundar, who has 8 wickets in 8 games against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh appears to be unable to handle the changing nature of the game, particularly during the last five T20Is, where they have lost four on the trot.

Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das are likely to be the opening combination. He has been the top run-getter for Bangladesh for the last two years since his debut. He has scored 828 runs in 33 innings at a strike rate of 123.39 with as many as five half-centuries. At number three will be Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who scored 787 runs in 38 matches at a strike rate slightly above 100. The middle-order fellows will consist of experienced hands, Mahmudullah, Jaker Ali, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, besides Towhid Hridoy, whose strike rate is 128.42, the top Bangladeshi batter over the last two years. Mahmudullah also brings experience with 199 runs and two wickets in 13 matches against India. Miraz was the top scorer from the last match with 35 runs. The bowling seems pretty reliant on Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman, who only managed one wicket in 9 overs in the previous game.

Ahmed is top of the list of wicket-takers with 46 wickets in 30 matches with an average of 17.39 over the last two years. Mustafizur has bagged 35 wickets in 32 matches and at a very impressive economy rate of 6.81. In the last 10 games, he's taken 17 wickets at an economy rate of 5.95. That makes him a bowler to watch out for.

Indian young players are emerging as a strong challenge for the visiting team. India have a very formidable line up with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson opening the innings, and Surya coming in at number three. However, India have lost just one of their last 15 T20Is to Bangladesh, but on Saturday they will look to turn it around. One good stat for Bangladesh is that they won against India in their last game in Delhi. Although this is so, we still think India will easily win this game against Bangladesh.
