England (Women) vs. India (Women): Can England Break Their Losing Streak?

The Women’s World Cup is already halfway through, and the 15th of 31 ODI matches is scheduled for 16 March 2022 at Bay Oval, New Zealand. The England Women will be opposing India Women in this game. 

England’s last game of the World Cup was against South Africa, which they lost by 3 wickets. The team had to bat first, losing the toss but scored 235 runs at the loss of 9. Two of their highest-scoring batters were Tamsin Beaumont, 62, and Amy Jones, 53, while others couldn’t stay pretty long on the field, which limited the given target. However, the bowlers did an excellent job and earned 7 wickets, giving a tough competition to the SA batters. Anya Shrubsole claimed 2 stumps while Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver, and Charlie Dean gained 1 each. Winning the next match would require a little more effort by the batting line, as putting forward a challenging score can contribute to the pressure over the other team. India Women seem to be improving their performance lately and have scored some significant wins through the series. The last match they played and won was against the West Indies, by 155 runs. The bowlers didn’t go soft on the opponents either and made this win a collective effort by costing the WI 8 wickets. Sneh Rana was commendable as always and gained 3 doors, while Meghna Singh claimed 2. Jhulan Goswami, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, and Pooja Vastrakar contributed to achieving the remaining 3. After successive tremendous victories, India will be very confident, and England needs to be prepared for the unexpected.
