Vasyl Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz Prediction: Time for an upset

On October 30 in New York, USA, former champion Vasyl Lomachenko will fight his next fight against rising American star Jamaine Ortiz.

Practically a legend of the world boxing, dominating in the light-heavyweight division for many years in a row, Vasyl Lomachenko lost all his titles in the fight with Teofimo Lopez, which was an absolute surprise to almost everyone.

In that fight, the Ukrainian looked sluggish and uninteresting up to the eighth round. In the end, he tried to put on weight, and he partly succeeded, but Lopez found an antidote, he did not let himself be knocked out, and by the total points, he took the fight without any questions.

Ortiz is a pretty solid all-rounder with no pronounced weaknesses, but nothing is outstanding about him. Nevertheless, he is quite capable of pulling off a surprise, and if looking for upsets in boxing, where, if not here?

The two men used to sparring partners before, so the American knows the Ukrainian's strengths. Teofimo Lopez showed us how to box with Lomachenko, and Ortiz knows how to do it again. It's all about the preparation and the physical condition of Lomachenko. Still, there are questions about it - he had a long break again, he is again smaller in size, and mentally he is not clearly ready (in a hurry for the title fight with Haney and experiencing troubles because of the events in his home country).

Either way, Vasyl is not getting any younger, and the fight will probably drag on.
