Teofimo Lopez vs. Sandor Martin Prediction: Teofimo Will Regain His Confidence In This Bout

This weekend is a big one for Spanish boxing in the United States. Sandor Martin will compete in a world eliminator versus Teofimo Lopez, a top level fighter looking to regain lost ground following an unexpected setback at lightweight against George Kambosos.

Lopez just won the vacant WBC-NABF and WBO belts by TKO. That victory followed his sole professional loss, a split decision against George Kambosas Jr. last year, in which he lost his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight belts. Teofimo (17-1, 13 KOs) wants to impress the many skeptics who have lost trust in him after seeing how he emotionally crumbled when faced with adversity for the first time against George Kambosos Jr.

Teofimo, 25, elected to go up to 140 instead of taking the rematch versus Kambosos, which was perceived as a show of weakness.

Teo didn't appear very remarkable in his debut at light welterweight against Pedro Campa in August, and it was fortunate for him that his opponent lacked power.

Martin has the WBA International super-lightweight title. Last time out, he defeated Jose Felix Jr. In a big upset last year, he won a majority decision against Mikey Garcia. Sandor Martin just beat Mikey Garcia and forced him to retire. Martin's slickness and strong mental IQ may be too much for Teofimo, who has looked like a basket case in several of his battles, most notably against Kambosos.

Teofimo is fan favorites to win this match against Sandor Martin. This weekend is surely the big one as Teofimo will beat Sandor Martin looking to regain the lost confidence after losing from George Kambosos.
