Bunch, 23, began boxing at the New York City PAL when he was five years old and worked his way up to the USA National Amateur Team, where he competed with current world champions Errol Spence and Shakur Stevenson.
Bunch made his ShoBox: The New Generation debut in July 2021, fighting to a contentious 10-round split draw with fellow rising star Janelson Figueroa Bocachica. Most people thought Bunch would win easily. In January of this year, he returned to national television with a shutout eight-round unanimous decision over Kazakhstan's Shyngyskhan Tazhibay.
