Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Prediction: We doubt it will be fair fight

In the early morning of 21 July, the legendary but 58-year-old Mike Tyson will step into the ring against blogger-boxer Jake Paul. The fight will be held under professional rules.

"Iron Mike" ended his professional career in 2005 after two defeats from boxers who, in general, were no stronger than Jake Paul. The same semi-professionals. Moreover, later, Tyson admitted that he fought McBride (his last opponent) only for money, had no hope of winning, was in terrible physical shape, and was fed up with a serious attitude to boxing. After losing three of his last four fights, he said he would quit boxing because he felt he had lost the passion for the sport.

But in 2020, Mike did have one more fight - in an exhibition format against Roy Jones, a similarly veteran fighter. The fight turned out to be a good one, and the judges called it a draw, as, indeed, it was intended to be.

In photos and videos, Tyson is in pretty good shape now, but it's all deceptive. At the time of the fight, he will be 58 (!) years old, and four years ago, he was in a wheelchair and regularly complained about health problems.

Despite all this, Mike is optimistic and does not see his opponent as a very big threat. On the other hand, this is just business for him now, and the goal is not to win at all costs but to sell more PPVs.

The popular blogger who realized that there is more money to be made from boxing is simply turning the industry upside down. Some people admire him, and some people find him annoying - but his fists have knocked out MMA superstars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, for example. He's handled others by refereeing decisions, and he's only lost one fight, to middleweight professional boxer Tommy Fury.

Nevertheless, Paul still turned out to be talented and trainable, trains qualitatively, with the best trainers, in the best conditions, and without pauses, so he could well be called a boxer already.

To promote such a big event, as paradoxical as it may sound, is still difficult, people are mostly sceptical about it. But the blogger is trying very hard.

Jake Paul had his last fight against Ryan Burland on 2 March 2024 and knocked out his opponent in the first round.

Even if we don't take into account the suspicious refereeing and even more suspicious behavior of Jake Paul's opponents in some of his past confrontations, he will still be the favorite - Mike Tyson's age and health simply leave no room for any other opinion.

And a Paul win makes perfect sense in any scenario - whether it's a contracted fight or a fair fight. If they fight seriously all eight rounds, then after two or three, Iron Mike will be exhausted by his own blows, and there were no questions about the blogger's stamina. If the fight is already scripted, Tyson can only be happy for him - he won't get much damage, but his fee will increase significantly.

As a result, we expect Jake Paul to win by a judge's decision, and after the fight we expect a tsunami of hate that will fall on both the organisers and participants of this event, no matter how it ends.
