Slovenia vs Poland Prediction: Slovenia to prove their status as favorite

The reigning European champion Slovenia will play against Poland in the EuroBasket 2022 quarterfinals. Will the Slovenians be able to win a ticket to the semifinals? We will choose several bets at once.

At the group stage, Aleksander Sekulic's team unexpectedly lost to Bosnia. However, after winning all their other matches against France, Germany, Lithuania and Hungary, the Slovenians managed to reach the playoffs from first place. From there, Luka Doncic and company were to face an easy test in the round of 16, the Belgian national team. The Slovenians secured a comfortable 88-72 victory, moving one step closer to defending the title. The most productive player in Slovenia, of course, was Doncic, who scored insane 35 points. 

In the group stage, Poland's Igor Milicic's squad lost to Serbia and Finland, defeated the Czech Republic, Israel and the Netherlands to advance to the playoffs in third place. Despite not having the best seeding, Poland faced a squad from Ukraine in the round of 16, perhaps the best possible option. The Poles coped with the Ukrainians in a difficult struggle, 94-86, and reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship for the first time since 1997. A.J. Slaughter and Mateusz Ponitka showed brilliant play against Ukraine, scoring 24 and 22 points, respectively.

Slovenia has four straight wins against Poland. 

After the departure from the tournament of Serbia and Greece, Slovenia should probably be considered the main favorite to win the tournament. In their game against Poland, the team led by one of today's best basketball players, Luka Doncic, is likely to confirm that status. It's unclear why they can avoid a collapse in their next game. Poland has allowed 96 from Serbia, 86 from Ukraine, and 89 from Finland in this tournament and there's not much they can do against the excellent Luka.

Prediction: a confident win for Slovenia.
