San Diego State Aztecs vs Creighton Bluejays Prediction: Whose dream run will continue?

The NCAA March Madness moves into the Elite Eight stage and this is a crucial period. The Elite Eight stage is the Quarter-Finals leg and thus, we have just eight teams remaining in the prism. In this Elite Eight game, San Diego State Aztecs are going to take on the Creighton Bluejays.

The Aztecs move into this game after defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide 71:64 on the heels of a 21 points performance by Darion Tramell. This stunning upset was scripted on the back of one huge accomplishment. The Aztecs stifled the number two NBA Mock Draft candidate Brandon Miller, limiting him to 3/19 shooting(1/10 from the three-point line). This was a rather sluggish game and both teams combined for 100 rebounds.

The Aztecs limited the Crimson Tide to below 33% and just 11% from the deep range(3-27). The Aztecs had twice more triples than the Aztecs and three more field goals overall. Nathan Mensah had a terrific game too, blocking five shots and collecting eight rebounds. Jaedon Leede scored 12 points off the bench and they had a 28:15 bench advantage which proved to be decisive.

Ivy League’s Bluejays enter the game after defeating the Princeton Tigers 86:75 on the heels of a 22 points outing by Ryan Kalkbrenner. The Bluejays dipped in 47 points in the first half compared to 43 by the Tigers. Bluejays made nine triples as much as the Tigers whereas their overall field goal percentage of 58. The team dished 18 assists and Ryan Nembhard led the way with nine assists.

Scoring-wise, Ryan Kalkbrenner shot 9/12 whereas Baylor Scheirmann scored 21 points, slipping in five triples. On the other hand, Trey Alexander had 19 points on a 6/11 shooting. Baylor also led the rebounding end, collecting nine of them while also dishing four assists. Arthur Kaluma also had a solid game, scooping up 10 points and six rebounds. This was indeed an offensive masterclass from the Bluejays.

The Aztecs have had a dreamy time and their defense has been one of the best, stifling even efficient offenses. The Bluejays' offense has been ringing, constantly crossing the 80 points barrier and their scoring balance has been indeed a thing of beauty. I believe the Aztecs will be playing a physical brand of basketball but I believe the Bluejays are going to prevail here.
