Connecticut Huskies vs Miami Florida Hurricanes Prediction: Uconn's tough defense against Hurricanes' brilliant offense

The NCAA March Madness is on and we are virtually into the Semi-Finals range and the dream of a title is inching closer. This has been a tournament rife with upsets and we have seen historically successful teams getting buried repeatedly. This brings us to the Semi battle between the Uconn Huskies and the Miami Florida Hurricanes.

The Huskies march into this affair after defeating the Gonzaga Bulldogs 82:54 on the heels of a 20 points and six rebounds performance by Jordan Hawkins. The Huskies shot 41.7% from the floor and nailed 11 three-pointers on a 35.5%. UConn had a 48:40 rebounding advantage and had a bunch of all-around performances. Adama Sonago had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and six rebounds whereas Andre Jackson Jr scooped up 8 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds.

Uconn’s winning margin had been at least 15 and as much as 28 points in the last game. Therefore, they have the tendency to shut teams down on the defensive end and win by a big margin. UConn has scored in the 80s and they have been shutting teams down left and right. The Huskies’ play makes them a favorite for the title so let us see how it goes from here.

The Hurricanes enter the match after defeating the Texas Longhorns 88:81 as Jordan Miller scooped up 27 points. Norchad Omier led the rebounding efforts, bagging nine of them and he has led the effort for four straight games. The Hurricanes were amazing from the field, shooting close to 60% while being effective from the free-throw line, making 28 of 32 free throws.

The Hurricanes’ offensive game has been superb throughout the tournament, having eclipsed the 80 points mark in three straight games. They deal major blows from the inside and have been doing a lot of damage from the paint. Norchad Omier’s rebounding has been a huge factor for the team. The team’s offensive balance has been beautiful and multiple players end up in double-digits.

The Huskies' defense has been in great touch and they have been shutting down teams left and right. The Hurricanes do a great job of playing offense and their inside play has been superb. The rebounding battle is going to be crucial here and the Hurricanes will have their hands full against the bloated defense of the Huskies. Anyway, I back UConn to win this one.
